It’s been hailed as the magic bullet. The tool that can stave off illness, cure insomnia, calm our nervous system and bring us closer to ourselves and others. If this were a pill, we’d be taking it daily and paying whatever it costs. Meditation is available to us anytime, anywhere and at no charge and yet we dismiss it. “That’s a monk or yogi thing”. “Who has time to do nothing on a cushion?” You do, that’s who. I have created several guided meditations that support a variety of emotions that we strive to move towards or through. They are designed to be short and allow you to drop in quickly and gain the largest benefit. So go ahead, give it a listen, you might discover you like who you find.
Alternate Nostril Breathing: Nadi Shodhana, or “alternate nostril breathing,” is a simple yet powerful technique that settles the mind, body, and emotions. You can use it to quiet your mind before beginning a meditation practice, and it is particularly helpful to ease racing thoughts if you are experiencing anxiety, stress, or having trouble falling asleep.
Relaxation Meditation This guided meditation helps you to relax. As you move your awareness through your body you are guided step by step to be aware of your breath, to focus on muscle groups and to deepen into relaxation. This guided meditation is suitable for anyone who may be feeling anxious, or tense, or experiencing a lot of stress in their lives. It is ideal to do before going to bed at night, or anytime when you are feeling out of balance in your life.
Heart Meditation This meditation helps quell anxiety and fear by quieting the overactive mind and placing us in the body.
